Reza Shahabi’s painting restoration

This is a painting by Reza Shahabi (1901-1979- Tehran) Iranian painter and graphic designer, He is son of one of the Persian Constitutional Revolution leaders, and he started painting as Kamal-ol-Molk (Qajar master of painting)student in the first Persian official painting school and after finishing school he had been working in the ministry of art and culture of his time.

This painting is a portrait of the Persian famous writer Sadegh Hedayat, that is painted with crayons on cardboard, there is a signature with the date of 1965 (1344 Persian calendar) around ten years after Hedayat’s suicide from the last photo of him. The painting has cracked and missing parts in counters that are first fixed and then restored.

This art work is restorate and conservate at Avam restoration and conservation atolier.
